Go for a walk and notice Mother Earth. Notice the sky, the leaves, any animals, or any other parts of nature that attracts you. Then, when you're ready, bring your attention to your breath, take a deep breath in all the way to your diaphragm. Most people allow their breath to stop in their chest. Imagine opening up your lungs, allowing your stomach to relax, opening up the space for your breath. Imagine that your breath is nourishing all your cells in your body. Take at least three deep diaphragm breaths. Notice any sensations in your body without judgment, just notice. Notice your feet touching the ground. Keep walking until you find a large tree. Imagine, how long this tree has been in this one spot, growing. Imagine how deep the roots grow into the earth. Imagine how much rain has dropped on this tree, how many leaves have fallen, and how many others have been at this same spot. Sit under the tree, allowing your back to rest against the trunk. Try to connect your tailbone all along your spine to this old tree. Imagine that your tailbone is rooting into the earth to support and ground you. Imagine that you are connected, grounded. Come up with a question. This question can be anything that will create a solution or focus on empowerment, such as "What can I do to release this anger?" or "How can I be happier?" Do NOT ask questions that create problems such as "Why am I unhappy?" What "should "I do? These questions will only make you feel worse. Ask yourself your question and sit with it and meditate on this. Focus on the question with the intention that you have the answers within you. Allow your inner wisdom to surface. If you find yourself distracted or mind racing, just notice that. You can imagine your thoughts like clouds just floating by ,some may feel like a storm, if so, just notice the feeling, without judgment, without needing to do anything about it, fix anything. Imagine that you are like the tree. When rain dropped on the tree, it did not worry if the storm would pass. It just experienced the rain. This is your time to be in the moment. All you need to do is notice. |
